While our doctors are experienced at treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, they have also received specialized training in a few select areas. Ankle and Foot Reconstructive SurgeryOur doctors have extensive experience and training in ankle and foot reconstructive surgery. In some cases foot and ankle deformities caused by congenital defects, arthritis, trauma, and previous surgeries may require surgery. Our doctors will evaluate your individual case and determine the appropriate surgical or non-surgical treatment. Bunion SurgeryA common foot deformity, bunions gradually alter the angle of your bones in your big toe. Bunions can be extremely painful, making daily activities difficult. Our doctors will work with you to determine the most suitable treatment for your bunions. If surgery is necessary, we select the procedure based on the extent of your deformity, your activity level, and other factors. Recovery period varies based on the procedure performed. Though the overall goal of the surgery is to reduce your pain, we make every effort to leave you with a cosmetically pleasing result as well. Peripheral Nerve SurgeryIf your feet suffer from burning/tingling sensations, radiating pain, or numbness with activities, you may have a peripheral nerve condition that requires attention. Nerve surgery is very delicate and should only be undertaken when conservative treatments have failed. Dr. Dairman has received specialized surgical training for peripheral nerve conditions caused by diabetic neuropathy and nerve entrapment syndromes. Heel PainPatients suffering from chronic heel pain (i.e., plantar fasciitis and heel spur syndrome) can receive non-surgical treatment successfully in more than 90% of cases. Our doctors offer a proven comprehensive protocol-driven approach to resolving your pain. If conservative treatment fails, Dr. Dairman has specialized training in endoscopic (minimally-invasive) surgery carrying a greater than 90% rate of success allowing patients to walk the same day as surgery. Ingrown Toenail CorrectionIngrown nails are a common and very painful problem in which the nail plate grows into and pinches the surrounding skin. Bathroom surgeries occur on a daily basis where adventurous individuals try to correct their own ingrown nails and ultimately fail. Fortunately, 1Foot 2Foot specializes in a quick, virtually painless and permanent correction of ingrown toenails carrying a 90-95% success rate. Diabetic Wounds and Related ReconstructionFor people with diabetes, seeking immediate treatment for sores on their feet can greatly diminish the chance of infection – and potential amputation. Dr. Dairman has undergone additional training in the areas of diabetic foot and ankle wounds and their related reconstruction having spent two years during his residency rotating through Denver’s Diabetic Foot and Wound Center. His treatments are designed to emphasize limb salvage, reconstruction, and the overall prevention of diabetic-related disorders. He is a member of the American Professional Wound Care Association and is the only physician in Suffolk Board Certified in Wound Care.
